1. Overall Performance:
1.1. Tree and woodlot planation undertaken
As part of the outcome area 8, Tree plantation and woodlot development in refugee and host community area, nursery seedling produced some distributed and others were
transplanted as replacement in the 2022 conservation site like in KB refugee camp. The nursery activities had been started at the end of the project implementation period which was in the last month of 2022 and went up to the mid-year of 2023. Some of the activities done in the nursery sites were site clearing, sieving different component of compost (sand, clay and animal dung), cutting of polythene bag, filling polythene bag with compost and preparation of seeds. In the year 2023, SEE targeted to raise 60,000 seedlings in the three nursery sites namely Kebribeyah, Shedder and Awbarre. Nonetheless, 57,100 seedlings of different species were raised with 95% germination rate. This is the result of the hard work by incentive workers and technical staffs who have been doing nursery management on daily bases. The maximum number of seedling germinated is in Awbarre 19,600 followed by
Kebribeyah (18,800) and Shedder (18,000). Among the seedling species germinated are chinusmolla, Jacaranda, cassurina, papaya, guava, parkisonia, chinusmolla, lemon and
Moringa. The following figure 1 shows current status of the nursery sites in the three
nursery sites.
